UOSSM and Idlib Health and Education Directorates Launch School Health Project in Idlib

UOSSM and the Idlib Health and Education Directorates announced the launching of the School Health Project in Idlib. The project will cover 105 area schools. The main goal of the project is to strengthen the health of children in schools. More health awareness will be provided and cases in need of treatment will be referred to area primary health care centers in Quorqonia, and Areeha which will be a part of the School Health Clinic.

UOSSM Protection Team Holds School Party in Maara School on World Children’s Day

UOSSM Protection Team held a party for children in the Maara School celeberating World Children’s Day. The party had educational and fun activities, songs, and a play. Many of the child attendees were internally displaced. Small presents were handed out at the end of the party. The children were all smiles!

UOSSM USA Joins UOSSM Canada in #ForgottenFamilies Awareness Campaign

UOSSM USA joined UOSSM Canada in a 10-day #ForgottenFamilies Awareness Campaign. The goal of the campaign was to shed light on the everyday lives and struggles of internally displaced persons. Thousands of families live in camps throughout Syria, struggling to survive. UOSSM is on the ground providing medical and mental health care, and protection services every day.

UOSSM Canada Presents at the Syrian Film Festival in Toronto

UOSSM Canada presented at the Syrian Film Festival in Toronto on November 10. The main topics of the event were detainee rights, sexual violence against women, and victims of torture. The event was presented by the Canadian Center for Victims of Torture.

 

Did you know?

Since 2012, UOSSM has been providing emergency medical relief and healthcare services to the Syrian people affected by the crisis, working primarily inside Syria and with Syrian refugees in Turkey.

UOSSM:

  • In 2017, UOSSM supported 18 primary health care centers and 13 mobile clinics
  • UOSSM Bab Al Hawa Hospital provided health care services to 250,000 patients in 2017
  • In 2017, 175,000 beneficiaries were provided with nutrition services focused on women and children
  • UOSSM Mental Health and Psychosocial Support provided care to 22,955 beneficiaries in 2017
  • UOSSM Protection services were provided to 75,564 in 2017
